A Radiologist's Gaze
By day, I navigate the landscapes of medical imaging, deciphering the mysteries that lie within the human body. It's this same dedication to detail that spills over into my photography, where I explore the nuances of light, composition, and emotion.
A Hobby Transformed
I've had an interest in photography since a young age, but only recently pursued this as a serious hobby. I completed the course in Professional Photography at the Photography Institute of photography in 2020. After this, I also completed the advanced modules in portrait photography, wildlife photography, sports and events photography and food photography.
Photography has evolved into a passion that enriches my life beyond the confines of the medical world. The camera has become my instrument for creative expression. With each click, I freeze moments in time, capturing the essence of emotions.
My lens is particularly drawn to the grace and energy of dance, the intimate allure of boudoir, and the intricate emotions captured within portraits. Each of these genres holds a unique place in my heart, as they allow me to meld technical precision with artistic interpretation.
I have a particular interest in dance photography, through which I capture the fluidity of movement and the beauty of the dancers athletic ability.
In 2022 I attended the Pas de Deux dance photography conference in Austin, Texas and had a wonderful time learning from, and shooting with photographers like Sharkcookie (David Hofmann), Daniel Woods, Jonathan Givens, Balletzaida (Oliver Endahl), Andrew Eccles, Judy Host, Lois Greenfield, Alexis Cuarezma to name a few. I also had the opportunity become part of the international dance photography community, meeting a lot of international dance photographers.
I have shot numerous dance portraits for wonderful and talented local dancers. All can be seen in my portfolio.
Recognition and Achievement
In my journey, I've been honored to receive recognition for my photographic endeavors. The Photographic Society of South Africa has rewarded me with the distinction of a LPSSA and DPSSA . This acknowledgment serves as a reminder that my dedication to the art of photography has not gone unnoticed, inspiring me to further refine my craft and capture moments that resonate with both heart and mind.
I've also won several international medals.
